the 25th anniversary of the Red Ribbon Pledge which began in San Diego in 1985 and quickly grew to
national prominence with a proclamation by Congress of National Red Ribbon Week in 1988.

NADCP 15th
Annual Training Conference
|
The
National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) 15th Annual Training
Conference will be held in Anaheim,
California, on June 10 - 13,
2009. The conference will include skill building workshops and clinics. On
the first day of the NADCP conference, the Department of Alcohol and Drug
Programs (ADP) will conduct morning and afternoon sessions on the Substance
Abuse and Crime Prevention Act, aka Proposition 36. Topics for the
Proposition 36 portion include program improvements and promising practices.

California is hosting the 22nd Annual National Prevention Network
Prevention Research Conference in Anaheim,
California.

Annual Conference "Moving Beyond Tolerance: Creating a Multiculturally
Competent Addiction Workforce"
|
The
conference will offer cutting edge workshops on topics pertaining to alcohol
and other drug related issues: clinical interventions, family, ethics,
medical, co-occuring disorders and other AOD specific subject matter all
specific to developing a multi-culturally competent workforce. Other
conference events include: raffles, fun activites (annual membership meeting,
luncheon, PAC reception and karaoke night) followed by the traditional
Presidents Dinner, dance and awards ceremony.
