Senate Bill 315- Senator Wright; Ephedrine and pseudophedrine. this bill would make products containing pseudoephedrine – a key ingredient in the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine – available only by prescription. **HEARING CANCELLED AT AUTHORS REQUEST**
Senate Bill 129- Senator Leno- Medical Marijuana; Employment Discrimination. This bill would prohibit employers from discriminating against workers with medical marijuana recommendations or who test positive for MJ in hiring/firing. Bill held in inactive file (DEAD) may be brought up again January 2012.
Assembly Bill 828- Assemblymember Swanson; Food Stamps Eligibility: Drug Felonies. This bill allows individuals convicted of drug-related felonies to receive federal food stamps benefits.

Senate Bill 420- Senator Hernandez; Synthetic Cannabinoid compounds. This bill would make possession of up to 28.5 grams of any synthetic cannabinoid compound an infraction and possession of anything above 28.5 grams a misdemeanor. Further, possession of any synthetic cannabinoid compound with the intent to sell would be a felony if SB 420 were to become law. Billed passed Senate floor on 5/9/11. Senate Bill 847- Senator Correa- Medical Marijuana; Zoning Restrictions: residential use.
Prohibits medical marijuana establishments from locating within a 600-foot radius of a residential zone or residential use. Bill Senate floor on 6/1/11. Passed Assembly Health Committee 6/21/11. Passed Committee on Local Government 6/29/11. Re-referred to assembly committee on APPROPRIATIONS, hearing date 8/17/11.
Assembly Bill 1300- Assemblymemebr Blumenfield; Medical marijuana. This bill would give local governments the ability to regulate the location, crime prevention, licensing, taxation, hours and other rules related to medical marijuana distribution. Bill passed Assembly floor on June 3, 2011. The medical marijuana bill was signed by the governor Brown on August 31, 2011. This bill will take effect January 1, 2012.

Senate Bill 676- Senator Leno; Industrial Hemp: This bill would permit California farmers to grow industrial hemp for the sale of seed, oil and fiber to manufacturers.
